Marriage Counseling-The Sunnah Perspective
And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquillity with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): verily in that are Signs for those who reflect.
Surah 21 Ar-Rum 30:21
Sometimes marriage runs into those rough patches and that is okay because Allah has given us all the tools needed to get through them. That is why we require anyone who plans on
getting married at Masjid al-Mumin of Pittsburgh to get pre-marital counseling
in order to identify and highlight those areas of difference between the potential couple
that may become a source of conflict later.
On the other hand, you may feel after being married, things may have gone to far to rectify; that is furthest from the truth. Yes, marriage counseling can be scary and uncomfortable at first,
but the more you are motivated to save your marriage, the more you will see
that marriage counseling can be a benefit.
The purpose of marriage counseling is to figure out what underlying issues exist so as to identify a plan of action that is needed to keep the marriage from heading to divorce.
Marriage team duo Imam Na'eem Abdullah and his wife Samirah Abdullah have over 20 years of experience in between them and life experience that they can share to give some insight
to prevent divorce due to irreconcilable differences.
They are not certified counselors but, are promoters of healthy families and communities.
Counseling Sessions will be done mostly online or in-person when convenient.
