Jumu'ah Prayer

O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.

Acts of virtue on the best day of the week, Jumu'ah (Friday)

Make ghusl, wear clean clothes, wear musk
Read Suratul Kahf Chapter 18 in the Holy Quran.
Send abundant prayers upon the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
Come to prayer before the iqamah is called to be counted among those who attended.
Turn your cell phones off.
No eating nor drinking while the Khateeb gives the sermon, this will nullify your Jumu'ah.
No talking while khateeb gives the sermon, this will nullify your Jumu'ah.

The Jumu'ah prayer consists of two parts:

1. The sermon is given by the Khateeb while you sit and listen attentively

2. Two Rak'at are performed immediately after the sermon is given.

Muslim men are required to attend Jumu'ah, they are excused if they are sick or on a journey.
